PUTTING FAMILIES FIRST WITH NEW PLAYSPACE IN SUNBURY

Families in Sunbury will be able to enjoy a new playground thanks to upgrades from the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Sunbury Josh Bull visited the improved play space at Forrest Street Reserve which features a ninja course, fitness space, multi-purpose court and landscaping – making it the ultimate place for children of all ages.

The Labor Government provided $260,000 through the Growing Suburbs Fund to support the upgrades, with Hume City Council contributing $460,000 to deliver the project.

The refreshed park will better support the needs of the Sunbury community by providing a more accessible and inclusive place for children to play, be active and socialise.

According to census data, the number of families living Sunbury has almost doubled in the last five years.

The Growing Suburbs Fund is a $425 million investment over eight years in critical local infrastructure in Melbourne’s diverse and fast-growing outer suburbs.

Since 2015, the Government has invested nearly $31.5 million to support the delivery of 35 projects in Hume City Council from the Fund.
