ANOTHER YEAR OF DELIVERING FOR SUNBURY

A Year ago today, Victorians re-elected a Government with a positive and optimistic plan for our State.

A Government with a proud record of getting things done and delivering for our community.

Since then, we’ve been getting on with the policies and projects we promised for the Sunbury electorate – from building and upgrading local schools and hospitals, to delivering the road and rail projects need to get home sooner.

We promised to get on with upgrading and modernising Gladstone Views Primary, Gladstone Park Primary School, Sunbury Heights Primary, Sunbury Downs College, Sunbury Primary and Sunbury and Macedon Ranges Specialist School.

On top of our unprecedented $5.6 billion investment in new and upgraded schools, we’re also getting on with largest ever maintenance blitz across every single one of Victoria’s 1,500 government schools.

Early childhood learning can help shape a child’s entire future. But right now, too many kids are missing out on the benefits of early childhood education because of the cost. That’s why we’re preparing for the biggest-ever reform of early childhood education with the introduction of Three-Year-Old Kinder for every Victorian child.

We’re also building better kinder and training new kinder teachers, ensuring our youngest Victorians are ready for school – and set for life. Work is nearing completion at Diggers Rest Kindergarten thanks to over $1million in investment, which builds on upgrades at Stewarts Lane and Taylor Drive Kinders.

Nothing matters more than your health and the health of the people you love. That’s why we’re keeping our promise to deliver good healthcare close to home with community led planning underway for the Sunbury Community Hospital.

Locally our record is strong with the delivery of the Sunbury BMX Pavilion, the soon to be opened Sunbury Global Learning Centre a state of the art community space as well as the upgraded Galaxy Land play space.

Keeping fit and healthy as well as giving as many Victorians the opportunity to get active and participate in local sport has always been a key priority for this Government. Our investments in upgrading Langama Park and Boardman Reserve builds on the fantastic work already done at McMahon Reserve, Sunbury lawn Tennis Club and the Bulla Tennis Club.

From the roundabout at the end of your street to the biggest projects Victoria’s ever seen, we’re building a better transport network for Victoria – just like we said we would.  We have upgraded the Gap Road and Horne Street intersection and planning is underway for the removal of the Sunbury level crossing and provision for over 300 new parking spaces in central Sunbury.

We’re building the Metro Tunnel to run more trains more often. We’re building the missing link in Melbourne’s road network by getting on with the North East Link. And we’re building the Westgate Tunnel – providing a vital alternative to the West Gate Bridge.

But we know our work doesn’t end there. This is the pace that must define our next three years and we won’t stop – Victoria’s future is relying on it.

you need it – we’re investing in the things that matter for people in Sunbury and
delivering for all Victorians.”
