WORK TO GET UNDERWAY ON VINEYARD ROAD BIKE PATH

In a win for cyclists and pedestrians, work is being fast-tracked on the brand new shared user path between Sunbury and Diggers Rest along Vineyard Road.

Member for Sunbury Josh Bull today announced works on stage 1 of the $1.1 million project will start next month, with the contract awarded for installing the shared path across the Vineyard Road overpass.

New signage and safety barriers will also be installed, which will ensure cyclists and pedestrians will be safely separated from traffic.

Some lane closures and speed restrictions may be necessary during construction of the path, but works will be carried out at night where possible to minimise disruptions.

The project is expected to be complete by mid-2018.
