IMPROVED TRAVEL ON TRACK FOR SUNBURY LOCALS

The Victorian Government is making it easier for Sunbury locals to catch the train, with the new multi deck car park set to improve parking and access to public transport.

Member for Sunbury Josh Bull today announced that Expressions of Interest are now being sought for construction of the new Sunbury Station car park.

In summary, the proposal includes:

  • The construction of a four-storey building containing 693 car parking spaces, comprised of:
  • 428 commuter spaces; and
  • 265 short-term activity centre spaces.
  • Internally within the multi-level car park, pedestrian access is facilitated via two dedicated lift and stairwell cores located on the northern and eastern sides of the structure.

These additional car parks will free up local streets, generate jobs and make it easier to catch the train.

The works are part of the Victorian Government’s Car Parks for Commuters program, which has delivered almost 10,000 new and upgraded car parks across the state since 2014.

Construction on the project is expected to start in the coming months.
