HELPING TO CELEBRATE TULLAMARINE CHILDREN

The Andrews Labor Government is supporting the Tullamarine community to host fun and free educational activities and events for local families and children as part of this year’s Children’s Week celebrations.

Josh Bull today announced the Tullamarine Community House was among the 118 recipients to receive a grant to help host an activity or event during Children’s Week, which runs from 19-27 October.

The week-long national celebration recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children by offering free activities for Victorian families.

The Tullamarine Community House will hold a free Children’s Week celebration where the community will explore healthy food and safe lifestyle activities in a happy and fun way.

Families can now view a calendar and map of activities that will be held across the state as part of Children’s Week by visiting: www.education.vic.gov.au/childrensweek

Children’s Week events are free-of-charge to Victorian families with children aged 0-12 years and are a great opportunity for families to enjoy a fun, engaging and educational experience.

The theme for Children’s Week 2019 celebrates the right of all children to be healthy, safe and happy, based on Article 24 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The grant recipients will share almost $100,000 worth of funding to help celebrate the national week.

The Victorian Government provided grants to not-for-profit organisations and councils across the state to help cover costs associated with running an event such as hiring entertainment, purchasing craft materials, providing food and children’s prizes.
