Families in Sunbury will be able to rely on great local sporting facilities, with a re-elected Andrews Labor Government to deliver $2 million towards an upgrade of the Eric Boardman Reserve.

Right now, despite record female participation, local clubs based at the reserve have no purpose built female changerooms.

Funding from a re-elected Labor Government will go towards upgrading the pavilion, making sure that every player has the facilities they need.

The improved Eric Boardman Reserve will be utilised by local sporting clubs, with the Sunbury Kangaroos Football Netball Club and the Sunbury Kangaroos Junior Football Netball Club both set to benefit.

With these upgrades from a re-elected Labor Government, these proud local clubs – and this proud local community – will have the great sporting facilities they deserve.

The commitment builds on the Andrews Labor Government’s investment in local and community sport, including new equipment for the Sunbury Kangaroos and $4 million for the warm water pool at Sunbury Aquatic and Leisure Centre.

While the Liberals cut funding for hospitals and schools, and closed TAFE campuses – only Labor will invest in the projects our community really needs.

The Andrews Labor Government has made the biggest investment in grassroots sporting opportunities in Victoria’s history, with $420 million dedicated to community sports.
